William CHIANG 江威霖

William Chiang was born in Hong Kong in 1981. He started learning painting at the age of six under the guidance of Teacher Zhang Minsheng, studying traditional Western painting. In 2007, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Curtin University of Technology in Australia, and in 2014, he completed his Master of Visual Arts degree at Hong Kong Baptist University.

Since 2002, he has worked for animation production, advertising design, exhibition companies, and others. In 2010, he obtained a diploma in art education and taught visual arts at several secondary schools. In 2017, he established his own art studio and became a full-time teacher of painting and ceramics.

William’s artworks focus on realistic representation, combining traditional painting theories with contemporary art techniques. Traditionally, he emphasizes contrast of light and shadow, three-dimensional structure, and spatial creation. His contemporary paintings feature distinct and lively brushstrokes, rich colours, and a sense of beauty combined with emotional expression. His themes revolve around portraits, human forms, and natural landscapes, showcasing a unique composition and a sense of modernity in contemporary painting.

江威霖生於1981年香港。自六歲習畫,師承章民生老師,學習傳統西方繪畫,2007年於澳洲Curtin University of Technology 純藝術學士畢業,並於2014年修畢香港浸會大學視覺藝術碩士學位。

自2002年曾為動畫製作,廣告設計,展覽等公司工作,2010年取得藝術教育文憑並於多間中學任教視覺藝術,於2017年成立二部藝術工作室,全職教授繪畫與陶瓷。

江威霖畫作專注寫實之表現,風格結合傳統繪畫理論與當代藝術繪畫手法,傳統上著重明暗對比,立體結構,空間營造,當代繪畫筆觸鮮明輕快,顏色豐富,具美感之餘亦備情感表達。主題上環繞人像神緒,人體形態及自然風景,構圖獨特,展現當代繪畫之現代感。
