Kwan Sze-Fong, Tenme (b. 1962) has an interest in art since she was very young, and was a student of Ma Jir-Bo. Kwan was graduated at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1985 majoring in oil painting, then proceed to study at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts and was graduated in 1990, majoring in Traditional Chinese painting. She further her study in oil painting at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts till 1992.
Beside her love towards Chinese ink art, Kwan has a strong passion in city-farming. All these years, she has been sharing her love in art and city-farming with friends and art lovers at her own organic farm on the rooftop of an industrial building in Hong Kong.
With similar ideology of Chinese ink painting, KWAN fuses her harvest with Chinese ink and created her series of sculptures—The Harvest, with mud, cement and Chinese ink “stirred” together, assembling a mesmerizing visual of Chinese contemporary ink art. Through her sculptures, KWAN tried to explore a
new kind of ink patterns to resemble Chinese ink-painting as well as to discuss the relationship among cities, nature and human.
關四方自小喜愛美術 , 曾跟隨馬家寶老師學習素描。於85年到廣州美術學院進修油畫,1990年畢業於北京中央美術學院國畫系 , 至92年再度在中央美術學院進修油畫。
多年來,她都喜愛尋找寓意境的身邊事物,而水和泥的混沌變化就恰似水與墨的濃淡寫意,令人著迷。同時 , 她對種植亦有一份濃厚的情感, 於香港工廠大廈天台自設農莊作有機種植- 水泥地。 她近年將親自種植的收成倒模 , 選擇以立體手法來創作, 以水和泥混墨創作了一系列的原創雕塑,以嶄新的水墨形態,探討城市和人與自然之間的關係。
